The University of Michigan Medical School Honor’s Society graduate volunteers annually with Smile Bangladesh. Smile Bangladesh is an organization who works to repair cleft deformities in children located in the Southeast Asian country who would otherwise have little to no access to medical care. These types of deformities not only affect the afflicted physically but emotionally as well. The organization has performed upwards of 1,000 surgeries to date and continue to organize and send mission trips 2 to 3 times a year.
